Looking for an great way to declutter your kid's closets?

Have your kids grown a size (or two) since last fall?  Do your kids have toys they have not played with in over a year?  Now is a great time to purge their old clothes and toys, and here is a great way to for you to earn new-to-you, gently used clothes for your own children.


If you are not familiar with the website ThredUp, it is a website where you can list boxes of gently used (stain free, and in good condition) children's clothing and gently-used toys.  Each time someone selects one of your boxes, you earn a credit for requesting a box of gently used, new-to-you clothing for your child.

To begin swapping items, simply become a member on their site, which is completely free.  ThredUp will send you (for FREE) several USPS Medium Flat Rate boxes. Once you get your box of clothing or toys ready, it is very easy to list it with the template on the ThredUp website. When someone chooses your box, you simply need to print the pre-paid postage label from home (you don't pay the shipping cost), schedule a pick up with USPS and that's it.

You can list additional boxes and accumulate credits to use towards requesting boxes from other members of ThredUp.  There is a $5 plus shipping fee for requesting a box. When requesting clothing for your kids, be sure to read the box item descriptions carefully. If you are unsure about items listed in a box, always contact the member to clarify before requesting it.
